Three Become One meets
feed safety standards
Animal nutrition currently faces many
challenges. In addition to technical performance, food safety and animal welfare are
becoming increasingly important. Food
safety and the ban on antibiotic growth
promoters in the EU are significant issues.
Joosten Products has developed a
unique feeding concept for piglets up to
25 kilos of live weight. This is a compound
of high-quality, safe and balanced con-
centrates: Three Become One. Three
Become One can easily be used together
with local ingredients. The feeding concept
provides nutritionists with the tool they need
to formulate a well-balanced piglet feed with
all of the nutrients required to fully stimulate
the immune system and to promote healthy
digestive organs.
All three concentrates are unique and
when combined Three Become One. This
feeding concept is one of a kind and combines the advantages of these three concen-
trates to provide an optimal balanced feed
that meets current quality and food safety
standards. The feeding concept enables
you to formulate a well-balanced piglet feed
with all the nutrients needed to fully stimulate
the immune system and to promote healthy
digestive organs. Three Becomes One can
be used from the first feed intake until 25
kilos of live weight.

Danisco launches
thermostable phytase
Danisco Animal Nutrition has launched a
new highly-thermostable phytase (Phyzyme
XP TPT), which is claimed to be the most
heat stable phytase on the market. New
Thermo Protection Technology ( TP T) developed by Danisco ensures that the phytase
maintains efficacy after exposure to feed
conditioning and pelleting temperatures
of up to 95°C (203°F). TPT applies a coating to the phytase enzyme which delivers
protection from the high temperatures that
typically occur during the feed pelleting
process, while rapidly releasing the enzyme activity in the animal’s gut, without
compromising animal performance. Dr
Andrew Harker, Danisco’s Marketing and
Technical Services Director, commented,
“This new coating technology delivers a
free-flowing, dust-free phytase granulate
that can be used easily and confidently
in the vast majority of feed manufactur-
ing processes globally. Coupled with the
leading-edge performance of this new
generation phytase feed enzyme, which is
proven to deliver at least 20 percent greater
efficacy than traditional phytases, Phyzyme
XP TPT offers unrivalled thermostability,
performance and value.”

Unique soluble fibres key
to full growth potential
Purina Feed has introduced a new
Cornerstone® Full Growth Potential Milk Replacer
and Startena® calf feeding programme. If you
want to grow TLC (taller, longer calves) calves
that can enter the milking string at 22 months,
Purina Cornerstone® Full Growth Potential technology is for you, says the company.
Research results on calves fed Cornerstone
Full Growth Potential 28: 20 showed 35 lb. more
gain through weaning than calves moved to
a more traditional programme. The company
says the increased growth came from muscle
and frame, not fat. They were taller, longer and
heavier at weaning, with a body volume advantage of over 11 gallons. The company says the
advantages continue to multiply post-weaning,
resulting in taller, longer heifers.
