2010 Asia shows
growing
Victam Asia and
FIAAP are boasting
more square feet than
in previous years.
Victam Asia 2010 trade features suppliers
of equipment and technology used in the
processing and production of animal feeds,
dry petfood and aqua feeds.
Months before the shows opened their
doors, the Feed Ingredients & Additives
Asia Pacific (FIAAP) and Victam Asia 2010
already promised to be larger than the last
show held in Bangkok in 2008. Despite
a weak global economy, the combined
show, to be held March 3-5 in the Queen
Sirikit National Convention Center in
Bangkok, is growing while other events
have been cancelled, postponed or just
decreased in size.
One key reason why, says Victam
International General Manager Henk van
de Bunt, is that markets within Southeast
Asia have not been so adversely af-
fected by the economic slowdown. In
addition, he says, local industries were
able to respond more easily and quickly
to the strengthening market factors now
influencing the region and the industries
served by the shows.
What the show offers
Victam Asia features suppliers of
equipment and technology used in the
processing and production of animal
feeds, dry petfood and aqua feeds, while
FIAAP Asia’s focus is on specialist ingredients, additives and formulation technology used with the feed production cycle.
Petfood Forum
Asia returns to
Victam
On March 3, 2010, Petfood
Forum returns to Victam Asia, an
educational event providing leading
information and knowledge to help
the petfood industry continue fast
growth. As a region, Asia-Pacific has
seen nearly 20% growth in petfood
sales over the past five years (2003-
2008), and Euromonitor International
projects the region to grow even
more — almost 23% through 2013.
Sponsored by WAT T’s Petfood
Industry magazine, Petfood Forum
Asia connects key professionals from
around the world in one of the fastest-growing markets to learn about trends
affecting industry growth. Attendees
will learn from industry experts to help
them grow their businesses, concentrating on important components,
such as global and Asian market
trends; nutraceuticals and immune
function; fermentable carbohydrates
for cats; best practices in food safety;
and how to save energy and reduce
waste in processing.

Making a statement
He says exhibitors are making a
statement of confidence in the future
investment and expansion of the feed
and dry petfood markets of South and
Southeast Aisa and China. It is also a sign
of confidence that attendees will be of
the right calibre and comprise nutritionists, feed formulators, mill and production
managers, veterinarians, and company
executives. Van de Bunt also added that
the series of technical conferences and
workshops that is supporting the 2010
event will bring senior technical executives
to the event.
Conferences and workshops will
include the GRAPAS Conference, the
FIAAP Conferences, Petfood Forum Asia
